better. There's been several times where there's been an open man down the middle of the field that he hasn't seen or he takes a little to long before he throws it to them. That sort of field vision is something that takes time for a lot of QBs to develop.
That being said, I've been generally impressed with how he's played so far this season. He did have some struggles against ASU, but against Arizona and Utah he looked very good especially for a sophomore. He rated top 5 in the nation in QBR after the first 2 games and still ranks #12 in the nation in that metric. To be rated that highly through 3 games against P5 schools he has to be doing something right.
