Looking at it more, I think it's just that the other 3 have had recent major bowls against ACC/SEC opponents
Especially Cincy and UCF, the two they had immediately at the forefront, have played against Georgia in bowl games since 2010. And all three had NY6 games in the last decade.
I think BYU has been similar to those three over the last decade and certainly has a stronger history than any of them, but our postseason opportunities have been TERRIBLE as an independent and I really think that hurts our recognition.
So so glad to be getting out of independence, especially to a P5

I’m guessing these guys likely also believe that any team not in the SEC are almost akin to the G5. Anyone that likes
