and so I had free reign of picking my team. I was in the Monterey area, so between proximity, the excitement around Bonds, having a few LDS guys on the team like Jeff Kent and Shawn Estes, and being able to attend games here and there, it just kind of fell into place.
I played little league ball and a LOT of sandlot baseball. We regularly tried to replicate batting stances of our favorite players and played a lot of home run derby in our cul-de-sac. I was always Barry Bonds. The only juice I did though was apple. 😀
But yeah....we moved to Utah when I was a teenager. Viewing options were limited to TBS and WGN when the Giants played the Braves and Cubs, but my little brother and I caught every game we could. He and I have shared an MLB.Tv account ever since it was an option.
I returned from my mission in May of 2010 just in time to witness that magical run, and was blessed to watch a few more championships over the next few years.
Hoping for another this year. 😎
