When playing that way is our strategy, that drive exposes the entire issue
many of us have with our defense.
No. This loss is not solely on the defense, it isn’t even primarily on them. But this strategy is what keeps games close, wears out our defensive unit, keeps the ball out of our offense’s hands, and frankly, what difference does it make if they get the ball on our 20 or theirs if we don’t really try to stop them until it gets to our 20 anyway?
The Ds inability to get the ball back quickly isn’t a feature, it’s a bug. People need to quit pretending otherwise.
