I'm mostly joking in saying that, but I just have a hard time feeling bad for
the defense when it seems like the play calling is designed to let take get to the red zone in them. The fact that I expect teams to pick up a first down on byu no matter the down and distance is ridiculous. And as long as we are talking about psychology, if we want to have a home field advantage, the defense has to give fans something to get loud for. I'll be honest that it got old "getting loud" when I had absolutely zero faith that the defense would get a stop. Especially when I could usually predict the offensive play call every third down play. The offense was the reason we lost the game yesterday, but as others have said, I'd love to see the defense win is a game sometime when the offense is struggling. I want to see a willingness to do something different when what you are doing defensive isn't producing the results needed. I want to see us pressure a QB when in previous weeks other teams have shown that when you pressure that QB they make mistakes. I understand that we don't have the same level of players as other teams do, but over the last several years we've seen BAD defenses with less athletic players expose weaknesses against teams that we can't stop. At a certain point that's a scheme/coaching issue.

Maybe I just don't understand football, and again, the offense lost this game. But over the last few years, the defense is constantly frustrating, while the offense is only occasionally frustrating. Literally all I want to see from Tuiaki is a willingness to try something else. Attack the weaknesses of a team. Help me as a fan have a reason to get loud at home games. Give me some confidence that we can stop a team on 3rd and 10 on occasion. Stop giving up 7 and 8 minute drives consistently, even if you only hold a team to a field goal.
