It doesn't sound like he did anything wrong.

I've made a habit, though, of deescalating situations personally. There are enough whack-jobs out there that when I am in a situation where I feel like arguing/yelling, I find myself letting it go.

One example recently--I parked my car in the garage and was walking down the stairs to street level (this is Salt Lake). At the bottom of the stairs were two homeless guys blocking my way. I asked them polititely if I could get by and they just looked at me without any reaction. It was frustrating. They were blocking the bottom of the stairwell.

I could have yelled at them, or stepped over the top of them, or threatened them, or made a scene. But I just walked back up and took a different set of stairs down. Inconvenient. But it was better than chancing that these guys had a knife, or were high/crazy, or that something stupid happened. Not worth it to escalate anything.

Again, Lowe didn't do anything wrong. Didn't break the law, was an invited guest. Just wanted to move his car and was impeded by a bunch of low-lifes. I wish he had just remained calm and not played their game and gotten into a shouting match. It isn't his fault that a criminal murdered him--but engaging with a bunch of fake tough guys is just the kind of fuel that spurs some psychopath to go get a gun.
