I learned my lesson as a young man, roughly 25. I was driving one night through the Springville/Mapleton area and got behind a car that was driving really slow and erratically. I tried to pass him and he kept cutting me off. I started flashing my lights, brighting him, and kept trying to pass, but he got more and more aggressive cutting me off. Finally, we got to a stoplight where I got boxed in behind him and he got out of his car.
For some reason, I hadn't really thought of this as a possible outcome and I had no desire to get out and fight him. He was a big, burly dude and I wanted no part of him. He chewed me out and tried his best to get me out of my car, but I stayed put and waited him out. I was very lucky he didn't bust out my window or have a weapon. I learned then that you never know how someone is going to react so you better be thinking before you act.
