Part of the problem with saying your D is “multiple” like all D coordinators like to do now is that you wind up asking
certain players to do things that aren’t the best use of their skills. For instance, we try to stay in this 3 man front and just walk LBs up in run situations. So the LBs are the players being asked to do lots of things. Well, problem: they’re great off-ball LBs and pretty much wasted as LOS defenders (I’m thinking mostly of Wilgar here).
