I don't know how much of this is the defense, how much is injuries this year. I just can't stand that people are claiming that the defense is some "top notch defense" or that they "played great" yesterday to compensate for oversensitivity in criticizing the defense.

They gave up 7-11 3rd downs. Every 3rd down of <10 yards the other team converted. WSU scored on 2 of 3 possessions, and had 21 points on just 8 possessions. The defense was fine, and probably hampered by injuries, but they definitely weren't great. I think the offense had a much bigger impact on the win yesterday than the defense, which they probably should, but they are dealing with injuries of their own.
