For those of you saying more than $30, I'd be interested in the reasoning.
This boy wanted more than $30. I thought it was absurd.
He came and did my lawn, it took him ~30 minutes of mow time and maybe 5 minutes of load/unload time. He lives five houses away, so his commute was essentially nil.
He wanted $45 for this. Even saying he ran through $5 of expendables (oil, gas) and has to pay $7 of income tax on that...he essentially wants around $60/hour for his work. In other words, he wants to be paid about as much as a mid career software engineer in my area.
