Additionally, they have 2 QBs coming in next year, one of whom is rated higher than Costelli. He would have probably been in the mix, but was far from a sure thing as "the future." Plus, who knows how things were shaking out on the practice field. This is the reality of recruiting QBs in the era of the transfer portal. It sucks to lose a talented guy who would have presumably competed for the job, but this is the reality of the position.
