I think the transition to P5 is going to be eye opening.....
It is going to be a lot more difficult than people realize. There are several programs in the Big12 that are going to be difficult for BYU right out of the gate and I don't see any influx of talent in recruiting which will make a difference for 4-5 years at least, maybe longer with missionaries cycling in and out of the program.

I actually think Utah was better positioned entering the PAC12 than BYU is entering the Big12. They had built upon their NY6 success, conference championships and certainly the ability to dominate the rivalry. This allowed them to start building better talent and depth and further established their program's identity (Physical front 7 and talented DBs with a strong running game). BYU is still struggling to find itself and has not had enough success during its Indy days to have energized recruiting much. There have been some signs things are changing, but we all know change and getting players into the program is a lot longer runway.

I hope fans stay patient. It is going to take some time.
