It's not a free for all in any defense or scheme. If they knew what was up and could react fast enough I'm sure they would've made a play. But they first need to be gap and drop sound. They cant just run off leaving cut back lanes and throwing lanes open either. Most broken plays happen because people lose assignments in the confusion.
