A woke person complained that the name Dixie might offend some people and that of course set the ball rolling because we can't take the chance that anyone will be offended. A handful of like woke people got on board to get it done.

People in St George did not want the name change and argued against it. Polls showed that the vast majority are against it. Those people of course do not matter. No one cares what they think.

The "Job placement" thing was fabricated, never proven. Dixie State graduates are actually quite proud of the school and obviously therefore the name.

It's a ridiculous and untrue statement that "The name proved to be a problem and they were falling behind other universities because of it" No one ever actually believed that.
