That's probably true
St George people who have always had the school named Dixie and various other stuff named Dixie as well are attached to the name and aren't happy about it getting changed by people who are not local residents. I can understand how they feel about it.

Dixie grads are proud of being a Dixie grad. I know a lot of them and never met one who thought the name in any way was a detriment to them or their career. They know the name was changed because one woke person complained and that's all it took to get the ball rolling. They aren't happy about it. I can understand how they feel about it.

So now it's done and the great Dixie name has been replaced with a stupid one. That's how the local people feel about it. I can understand how they feel about it.

They'll get used to it. Maybe somehow somewhere someone will be more accepted with Utah Tech on their resume rather than Dixie. I don't think so but who knows. I don't think anyone cares about the school people go to, they just care about whether they can do the job. I don't think Dixie ever hurt anyone looking for a job.

Seems like the legislator told themselves it was a good idea so they did it. But it was only done because of the climate we live in, not because it was actually so much of a good idea. They feared the wrath of a few vocal people, just like about everything these days.
