It was 20 years ago and before all this crazy inflation

I’m looking for a used car and it’s hard to find anything but a clunker under $7k (or my definition of a clunker)

Another thing that is more common now than 20 years ago is the price of an education and healthcare. I wonder if more money proportionally compared to 2000ish would be less harmful?
