Stake presidents have a certain profile (that includes financial independence) that they look for when submitting recommendations to SL?
Or whether these successful people are such high profile enough that their name gets on the radar of mission president. I’ve overheard someone say to someone you’d be a good mission pres and the response I’m not anywhere near successful enough to be considered for that.
I remember hearing when searching for a stake president and interviewing potential candidates the ones being interviewed also mentioned their profession in a bio they submitted. It would be good to know which professions would automatically remove you from consideration.
During a recent ward bishop change one person suggested Bro x would be good simply because of their high profile professional success and it would translate to being a good bishop. Maybe church HQ has learned over time that successful professionals also translate to the most successful MP’s and they have this profile they typically look for. In conference I’ve heard many GA’s reference their corporate or professional past.
