and given them some rent distribution money each year. Apparently it gives them some tax benefits and it gives their children/spouses some extra spending money. It was almost critical for us during certain periods of life, but now that we’re a little more settled it’s just a nice luxury.

Sadly, I think 2021 was the final year of this arrangement. But it was good while it lasted and I would love to do something similar for my children as they get older.
