In 6th grade I had to get a weekly grade report from my teachers and give it to my parents. If I was failing a class, I was grounded for the weekend.
I cant remember which subject it was but I was failing it and my teacher wrote that on my grade report. I was determined to not be grounded that weekend, so I came up with what I thought was a full proof story.
I came home and told my parents that my teachers son got in a car accident and had to leave early because he was sent to the hospital.
(Side note, I grew up in a fairly small farming town in California).
So I felt good and was off the hook for the weekend. Until Monday and my sister who was in H.S. at the time, was telling all her friends about how how my teachers son got in a car accident. What I didn’t realize is my sisters friend, was dating my teachers son….needless to say the truth came out and let’s just say that I’m glad I’m still alive to tell the story!😂🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
