I was around the same height off the ground (~40'-50'). It had been a LOOONG time since my last bolt. I looked down and knew that if I fell I was going to deck. I was there with my family and one other family. I think me and my belay were the only ones who realized what was going on. It was about 5' to my next bolt but I got hit with all the nerves. I got the sowing machine leg going. It was so bad! I did make it but it was definitely a lesson learned.
Later that same day on a trad route I zippered two crappy placements and landed on my back on a ledge about 10'-15' down. It knocked the wind out of me but I was otherwise okay.
I kind of point to that day as the day that took away my sense of being invincible when climbing. I still did it but it was never the same. After that I was always nervous even in pretty normal circumstances.
