This is the number one reason we'd never move to UT or SL counties. Air pollution. The kids are gone and two of them
now live - one in Provo and the other in SLC. We go down to visit from WA often and think about moving but that smog would be totally depressing to me.
Plus, I like to get out and run a few days a week but I just wouldn't want to do that to my lungs down there.
Does the smog extend south down to Spanish Fork and Nephi?

100%. In Utah Valley the main culprits were Geneva Steel and the iron plant in South Provo. They are both gone now and

That power plant is gas-fired and quite clean. I remember one time we lost a seal on a battery on the coke plant. Within

Understood. I wish we had more access to the power from IPP, but IIRC, most of that power is already sold to CA markets.
