For example, a hypothetical question
If the Big12 announced they were going with this idea, but instead chose the pods below, how would you feel about it?

I don't think these are the best choices personally - I'd either like to keep the Baylor/TCU/Houston and Kansas/KansasSt/IowaSt groups together or I'd like to spread the top teams out, but this one basically puts us into the same situation as Iowa St.

And while it might not be our ideal, I'd honestly be pretty excited about it. Kansas is terrible, so if we can finish ahead of Kansas St, it means we're getting a chance to play into the CCG. And if we win the CCG, we're in the (by-then-expanded) playoffs. That's a pretty sweet deal and we're still playing lots of teams from other pods and getting some great matchups. This only works in the Big 12 since there's no clear marquee team, and the teams break down nicely by groups of 3

For example, if you tried it in the PAC 12 you'd have pods of something like
PNW: Washington, Wazzu, Oregon St
Central Coast: Oregon, Stanford, Cal
Southern: USC, UCLA, Arizona
Mountain: Utah, Arizona St, Colorado

which would be bad for the Arizona and Oregon schools having to split apart. PAC12 is based in sets of 2, Big 12 can be in sets of 3
