With this you do play someone in Texas literally every year and Iowa St (for example) would play in Texas just as often
as they would in a divisional setup.
Under this Iowa St (for example) would play an average of 3.1 games per year against Texas teams (split equally between home/away) and always at least 2 with one in Texas.
In a division setup where Texas schools are equally split west/east, Iowa St would (in an 8 game conference schedule) always have 3 games against Texas teams, or (in a 9 game conference schedule) an average of 3.3 per year, similarly with always at least 2 against Texas teams, 1 of which would be in Texas.
Not seeing a major difference.
