I still think they would learn more getting a chunk of game time. The elite
basketball schools already experience the phenomenon somewhat - that they have a hard time filling spots 10-13 on the bench with future contributors. Mostly those are players who will always be passed over by a new recruit or a new transfer. That is how a guy like Ashworth for USU got an offer to play at Duke out of high school - they need to fill those spots with some warm body. Ashworth is good enough to play at USU, but would likely never be good enough to be in the rotation at Duke.
