Sell them at a profit. Most of the time they have a few small simples but the last one I bought (2020 30’ heartland Pioneer) had just one tiny dimple.
Most insurance companies will total almost any trailer regardless of how much damage it has. So many are totaled that have VERY minor damage, like a few hail dents. Had a trailer dealer once tell me, let someone else put the first dent in it and you can save a ton of money”
A couple months ago I paid $15k for a hardly used 2020 30’ bunkhouse trailer that sold new for over $30k. I keep it in storage in St George where I can call ahead and have the staff park it on a pad for me so I just have to plug it in when I get there. No towing. Then they put it back in storage when I leave.
I like to think of it as my personal vacation rental to get out of the cold and golf all winter. Hard for anyone to complain when I get to enjoy a great RV and make thousands after I’ve had my fun. There are enough campers for sale from the insurance companies that I’ll always be able to buy one if I want one and make money on it every single time. Other than the expense of towing it around and the overnight costs of a campsite, it’s a money making asset.
If you like campers this is way better than renting someone else’s.
