VW's EV rollout has been horrendous - my wife and I have been waiting for either an ID.4 or a Q4 eTron for more than 6 months. Dealers still don't even have a Q4 eTron demo vehicle (or an allocation of 2022 Q4s, in spite of the fact that the vehicle "launched" in the US in 2021), and it's almost as bad with the VW ID.4.
It's not just VW problem, to be sure (where are the Mustang Mach-Es? Where are the Lightning and the Rivian truck and even the Ford Maverick?) but it is a problem. 2026 would be ambitious under any circumstances, to say nothing of the current market conditions.

But if they invest in North America manufacturing that may help the VW nameplates and launch the Scout.
