Burley is the parent's choice not the kid. All these posts saying it'd be a ding
on Whiting as a recruiter if she can't convince her own daughter to come seem to be severely underestimated the tale-as-old-as-time teenage desire to have freedom from their parents.
I know nothing about Amari's personality or wiring, just saying it's a silly expectation IMO from working with youth for many years.
