family doesn't surprise me.
One thing I learned working at KSL though, is that the majority of the on air talent don't have a 'Newscaster' voice. What we think of as their put on 'Newscaster' voice is their actual voice and inflection. It's what allows them to be believable in their delivery. Dick Nourse was one of those who wasn't forcing his voice to do something else, and if my memory is correct I don't remember Carol having a different voice, that is just how she talked:)
One person I know of who definitely has a different voice on TV than they do in person is Sam Penrod. He was an Associate Producer when I was there and his speaking voice is nothing like his On Air voice.
