Getting the wrong school is a concern committing that young. What if we go somewhere for a coach and system and there is a change? What if another stud comes in and takes a year off starting? Etc etc.

Then another move may be needed. A later choice gives more visibility but leaves less options down the road as spots get filled. These top academic and sports schools only have so many spots to bring in athletes.
