I've met two apostles at the airport. I spoke to both of them and both were overly welcoming to speak with me.
I've met with other apostles as part of my calling and saw them interact with those whom recognized them while we were at dinner, airport, etc. A waiter in one restaurant approached an apostle and two GA Seventies as we left a restaurant and told them he'd just gotten home from his mission and was going to miss the devotional they were doing that evening because he was working at the restaurant instead. They ASKED HIM if he'd like to take a picture of him with them. His evening at work turned out to be an upgrade (IMO) vs. going to the devotional.

I never saw an apostle flinch or waiver in speaking warmly and genuinely to those who approached them in public settings. I never heard them speak ill of those people after they walked away. In fact, usually, such meetings are followed by them remarking to those of us in the group something along the lines of "what a pleasure it is to meet with the Saints wherever they are."
