If it’s just me I probably just nod or ‘nice game/season’ with my kids…
I pointed out a starter once to my 8 year-old when we were in the bookstore looking for gear. My son really wanted to meet him.
So I called the player by name and introduced my son and said he wanted to say ‘hi’. The player was awesome and my son has been an avid fan since.
My son has had a ton of fun in interactions with players since.

I've met two apostles at the airport. I spoke to both of them and both were overly welcoming to speak with me.
