Why do people think it's a good idea to move in with their parents or in-laws?

I love my parents and in-laws but after I got married there was no way I would move in with them. I also would not want my adult married kids moving in with me. The only why would be if there was a completely separate apartment on the house and even with that it would have to be a dire situation where there was no other option.

So yes, in a technical sense it can be. I mean when you evaluate personally how much you're worth you don't include it.

It is a terrible idea and causes lots of problems for both parents and families
