The P5 distinction is becoming ever less relevant. This is a uncertain time for

any university outside of the SEC and B1G. I think that could be an opportunity for the B12 or ACC if the big 2 conferences don't cherry-pick the other strong schools not part of them like Clemson, Notre Dame, North Carolina and maybe Oregon before a third conference can try to counter the B1G and SEC's bold moves.

The OP is not necessarily wrong as respects BYU. There are miles to go in this latest CFB power play.
