I was planning on accepting, but this interview fell into my lap without me applying for a job or anything. It was with PepsiCo and they reached out to a professor to ask for recommendations for students who they should interview, my name was one of 5 names he gave. So I got hit up to do the interview and accepted just for kicks - I hadn’t accepted my other offer yet.

Almost emailed them the day before to cancel but decided it was a bad look to cancel on such short notice. Turns out I was completely unprepared and felt like a moron. I emailed them afterward to apologize for how poorly it went and “withdrew” my name from consideration to spare them the rejection email.

Even though the chances of me accepting the offer would have been really low, it’s still a tough blow and a bit of a self-esteem deflator to go through that.
