Interviewed for another job at the same company, but different division. First rounds of the interview went very well. Then had the final round with the Division President (the hiring manager, who I would be reporting to). It did not go well at all.

Two weeks went by with no response and I was frustrated at being ghosted, so I emailed asking for a follow up, thinking it would get them to at least tell me I didn’t get it.

Imagine my surprise when the President called me and offered me the job.

Turns out that there were some HR challenges (company put on a hiring freeze so the division President had to fight to move the hiring forward) which caused the delay.

Oh, and the President did confirm that I didn’t do well at all in the interview with her. Luckily the prior round interviews went so well so that combined with my prior performance, work experience, and reputation, she said she was going to ignore our interview and consider it an anomaly. But I wasn’t wrong that I bombed the interview!
