My wife of 23 years knew going into marriage what sports meant to me. Playing, watching, and even reffing (HS and
College lacrosse, HS football…don’t do it anymore but did for a while). We dated for 2.5 years before getting married, so she understood exactly what I loved as she would go to BYU home games with me. So it has really never been a problem in my marriage. Every once in a great while, we have something (usually one of our kids activities) that takes place during a game that will take precedence but that is rare. She didn’t even blink when I told her I was going to both the Oregon and ND games. She just said, I hope they win. Never been a problem in my marriage, which I’m grateful for. Of course, I’ve also never had a problem with her doing anything that she loves, either.
