If energy efficiency was driven by pure science, not politics, we'd have Thorium reactors producing our energy
To include both electricity in our homes and hydrogen for our cars (whether via ICE or fuel cells for EV).

Given the source of the data (Yale Climate Connections), I'm naturally suspicious of the conclusions. I readily admit, EV is more efficient than ICE. Far more efficient. It's the gap that I question. It seems exaggerated.

Also, the problems with enviromental toxicity around lithium production and disposal are real issues that shouldn't be dismissed by "on the verge of" or "soon will be" promises of fixing. IMO, we should fix these very problematic toxicity issues before pushing EV as green... especially with governmental incentives (read: tax money) to underwrite EV research and sales, or to premature forced closures of hydrocarbon related production (both ICE vehicles and refineries).
