that we are still on the outside looking in even though we were all excited by this notion of being power 5 and included in a conference.

If the big 12 is able to survive as a viable third or fourth best conference that still has access to playoff and decent bowl games then I will be satisfied.

I would love to be in a big 12 that had Texas and Oklahoma in it for a while. Without them the football doesn't excite me as much. Games against Baylor and TCU have appeal to me. But not anymore than the schedules we've had as an independent.

If the big ten is truly looking west and picking the best teams it would be wise to pick up the Oregons Washingtons and USCs of the world. But I'd love for there to be at least some chatter about BYU. But there is zilch. And that makes me sad. I think we deserve better than that with the history that we've put forward since the mid 1970s. Our attendance, our stadiums, our big wins, our heisman, our national championship... Its sad that were not being talked about as team 20 in this theoretical expanded big ten thats taking the best teams out west. I know that on the outside looking in that a BYU fan thinking they belong is delusional. But we've beat up at times on these teams that are getting included. We are no slouch.

I've enjoyed being the bigger fish in the smaller pond though. That has its charms. I don't know if i could handle being a bottom feeder for eternity. So as long as the big 12 gets us some sort of win and your in type of option I'm all for it.

But I just wish BYU would get a little more love in these discussions about who are the best programs in the west. I feel like we've earned it over time.
