Rankings are to a degree earned by performance. At the beginning of the
Season the previous year is taken into account.
LV thinks ND is better than their performance this year would indicate. Also, based on performance BYU does not deserve to be tossed out but they have not performed well in the last three games.
Even we hope BYU is better than they have looked in the last three games. We (and the polls) expected them to be better than they have looked lately.
