As I wrote, IF recruits were leaning toward BYU (which could be for a number of reasons right?) but the current coaches were giving them a reason to not sign, getting rid of those coaches might make them hold off from committing elsewhere.

Exactly but letting the coaches responsible for the terrible defense at least gives hope for something better. Also
