recruiting them. Or if it wasn’t those coaches recruiting them, it seems odd they’d pick coaches they don’t know and want them fired.
What does make sense, is that they see the system as a whole not working, then questioning the coaches and thinking “ok, I should look somewhere else.” They’re not going to sit and think through the problem solving of who’s responsible and who needs to be fired like fans obsess over. They’re playing their own football season and trying to decide on their future. Plus, some 16/17 year old kid with limited ties to BYU is not going to be in on this years long narrative fans have had re: Tuiaki.
The defense sucks , and the coach recruiting me was just fired? Ok I don’t want to play for a bad defense and now that guy I talked to is gone. If that happens I’m not suddenly relived and filled and optimistic like a fan would be, I have no idea what to think and I have other offers where the defense is better and the coaches haven’t been fired.
