Huh? You don’t think the relationship with the position coach is a huge reason?
Look, I’m not saying the players don’t like Harvey. But position coaches HAVE to be relentless recruiters. They just have to be. And the past few years, it’s been pretty well documented that some of BYU’s position coaches were lazy recruiters. I don’t know if applies to Harvey or not, but the position coach has to be a monster recruiter if you want to compete for at the P5 level.
Again, I’m not calling for Harvey to be fired, but I think it’s fair to question if he’s a good recruiter.
