I can't say with any level of certainty how he might compare to another good DC candidate, but it's clear to me at least on the high level X's and O's of the game (including the analytics side of things), he knows what he's doing.

With that said, I acknowledge as well that there are more skills to a DC than just X's and O's. Recruiting, preparation, motivation, etc., are other skills, that I could not know being an outsider how he might fare, and whether other DC candidates may be better suited overall.
