Exactly right. Anyone saying that about Bronco has never actually met him
The Bronco from television interviews is not the Bronco that the team and others around his program and life, knows. I discovered his great, surfer like, and funny personality when I was blessed to meet him through the Thurs Hero program. Absolutely everything he says is calculated, but it actually means what he is saying and not just saying it to look a certain way.
Bronco is probably the most sincere individual I have ever met, and once he is a friend, he is a friend no matter where he is and if you are alone or in a group. He treated my wife and I exactly the same when ran into him at Cabela’s, as he did when we saw him down at every Thurs Hero reunion and event, each year. He never forgot our names, our stories, or the details of every conversation we had going back to 2009.
As a nobody, I did not expect him to even remember my name, without a name tag, let alone the personal details of specific conversations where he had challenge me concerning a disease I am battling. I did not even want to bother him when we saw him at Cabela’s with his young sons (at the time), we wanted him to have a little privacy, but he saw us and came right over to us and greeted us like old friends. I will always be grateful for Bronco and Coach Howell, who I have known since we were 4. They changed my life and did some amazing things for BYU, both on and off the field. These posts disparaging them are just uncalled for. Move on if you didn’t like either or both of them. They have moved on and are doing well with their lives and still cheer for BYU’s success.
