You can't have a staff comprised of G5 level coaches and compete. You need to go after talent that belongs in the competitive P5 level. As long as they aren't cutting corners, I will be ok with that. I am not expecting them to go into debt to upgrade facilities or go out and hire away Nick Saban, but they should be expected to play the part of a mid-level P5. Quite a few P5 programs were just lucky enough to get into the P5 because of the Big-time teams in their conference, not because many of them deserve it.
BYU should be able to compete in the mid P-5 level, including occasional flirtation with greatness. I don't expect them to ever compete with the Bamas of the world.
