My wife’s grandfather.
He abandoned the family after his wife became pregnant with #4. Never came home from work and was never heard from again.
Many years later they hired an investigator to track him down; they came up with a death certificate showing that he died homeless on the streets of LA in the 60s. He was from there so they think it was him, but there was no data other than his name & approximate age.
