Point of clarification- they don’t get to double dip. If they don’t claim the
money as taxable income, they don’t get a deduction. If they do take it in as income, they get a deduction. The vast majority will simply contract with the charity as an agent and pass the donations through directly, sometimes taking an administrative fee.

I never donate at store card readers because it's companies double dipping. They get a charitable contribution
