Male Cheerleaders have been around for a long time.
What they have not done is danced out of place to somehow drive attention to them and not the team.
This issue isn't that he is a male Cheerleader. It's the awkward out of sync performance he was doing.
I have to believe he likely wasn't qualified for the role but put those in charge in a tough situation in cutting him. Or worse those in charge are promoting the behavior for nothing more than the gimmick and story it creates.
It does neither group good and only hurts those who are attempting to cross barriers harm.
