It certainly doesn’t equal “denigrating a religion”. Sounds like a rivalry shirt

I am almost certain that you can find shirts that say something negative about the rival in nearly every college rivalry across America. That is very different from claiming that the University denigrates a religion. That claim has no basis.

If you want to say that many fans don’t like you and cheer against you and say bad things about you because you are a rival, I wouldn’t disagree with that.
