Expense. EVs and cars in general right now are too expensive. I’m not taking on added expense in my life to make other people feel better when my two ICE vehicles are fully paid off.

Range. Few EVs actually get range that is comparable with their ICE counterparts. They also take longer to refuel than ICE counterparts. This is further compounded in winter when batteries are least efficient and lose a good portion of their charge capacity. I regularly drive long distances and EVs are not yet practical for those purposes where recharging stations are few and far between.

Towing and cargo. Good luck towing anything very far with an EV.

EVs are improving and getting better. When some of these deficiencies are rectified and they’re more on par with ICE vehicles, I’ll consider getting one.
